Understanding Chronic Sinusitis

Sinuses can become swollen and inflamed.  This condition is called rhinosinusitis or more commonly, Sinusitis.  Chronic sinusitis may be caused by an infection, triggered by allergies, pollution, or cigarette smoke. It can also be caused by nasal polyps- growths in the sinuses.

Without proper treatment Chronic Sinusitis may last 12 weeks or longer.

Sinusitis interferes with sinus drainage which causes mucus to build up.  As a result, you may find

  • Breathing Through the Nose Difficult
  • Face May Feel Swollen
  • Experience Throbbing Facial Pain
  • Headache

No one is exempt from Chronic Sinusitis. It most commonly affects young and middle-aged adults, but children may also be affected.
