The research suggests that CT scans may offer options as a diagnostic tool for those with severe asthma because they are a non-invasive method of of examining the lung structure.CT scans are a series of scans of the inside of the body offering a picture of the patient's bones and organs, much like an X-ray. CT scans of the lungs used in this study offered researchers a look into the lung structure of patients and allowed them to note differences between how the physical structure of the lungs was affected in different patients.
